For this episode of CHI-TOWN EATZ!, we go by the infamous Portillo's for some legendary Chicago Italian Beef sandwiches! Back in my day, we could get the sandwiches "dipped" meaning they would take the whole sandwich and dip it in the au jus sauce from beef. They still do this, but now it's referred to as "baptized". Portillo's are located all over the city, but this retro styled one we went to is in Forest Park on Roosevelt Road & Des Plaines. Next time you got to the CHI, you gotta check them out!!
